De planning was om vanavond te schrijven over het concert van precies 28 jaar geleden, in New Orleans, een concert waar ik al kort over geschreven heb in het stuk over Shot of love, maar het uitvoerige schrijven zit er vandaag, door fysieke ongemakken niet in. Het zij zo.
Ik kan altijd nog luisteren.
Yap yap doet in een e-mail aan mij de suggestie om op deze blog eens wat aandacht te besteden aan officieel uitgebrachte opnames van Dylan die niet op Dylan's albums zijn verschenen, maar op bijv. soundtracks en verzamelalbums. Een prima suggestie, een idee waar ik zelf ook al eens mee gespeeld heb, maar waarvan ik nog niet aan de uitwerking ben begonnen door de prangende vraag waar te beginnen?
In Record collector nr. 346, 347 en 348 van februari, maart en april 2008 werd een lijst van officieel uitgebrachte Dylannummers op soundtracks, enz. gepubliceerd. Deze lijst bevat 166 nummers en besteed weinig tot geen aandacht aan bijvoorbeeld duetten en edits (ingekorte songs). De lijst is verre van compleet en bevat maar liefst 166 nummers.
Nogmaals de vraag waar te beginnen?
Dat neemt niet weg dat ik de suggestie van Yap yap een goede suggestie vind, en ooit zal ik er aan beginnen.
En waarom zou ik alleen schrijven? Hieronder de lijst van 166 nummers uit Record collector, kies één van meerdere opnames en schrijf er een stuk over. Je stuk kun je sturen, bij voorkeur als Word-document, naar tom_dylan@hotmail.com.

Natuurlijk is deze lijst verouderd, een aantal nummers zijn bijvoorbeeld op Tell tale signs verschenen. Daarnaast zijn er inmiddels een aantal 'nieuwe' Dylan-rarities verschenen. Dat neemt niet weg dat bovenstaande lijst een goed vertrekpunt is.
